One of the most popular outdoor activities Utah has to offer is hiking. The state is home to iconic trails like Angels Landing, The Narrows, and the Delicate Arch Hike. But while many of the state’s hiking trails are truly bucket-list worthy, summer might not be the best time to cross them off your list.
It’s no secret that the summer season draws a wave of tourists to the state each year. Many popular destinations, like Zion National Park and Moab, experience crowding and traffic this time of year. You might be left waiting in the heat for your turn to start a trail, or find yourself stuck in long lines just to hop on a shuttle to exit the park after a long day of hiking.
If you want to experience some of Utah’s natural beauty without the crowds, Powder Mountain is just the destination. Our resort offers more than 30 miles of mixed-use trails. Whether you’re hitting the dirt on two wheels or your own two feet, these trails offer stunning views of our slopes—covered in lush green foliage instead of crisp white snow!

Mountain Biking
While hiking our 30-plus miles of trail might be a more tranquil way to experience our resort during the summertime, there’s an even more popular activity waiting for you. The lift access mountain biking at Powder Mountain is our Eden Utah ski resort’s most unique and popular feature. Rather than trekking to an overcrowded national park this summer, hit our scenic trails on two wheels with an unforgettable day—or week—of mountain biking.
Guests can purchase lift tickets much like they do during winter vacations at Powder Mountain. Choose from a full-day ticket or a twilight ticket, which provides access from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. We even have a Season Pass for those with plans to frequent our mountain all summer long!
Mountain Bike Rentals
Traveling in from out of town and want to do some biking? You could book an e-bike rental in a busy town like Springdale, and weave your way in and out of traffic for the length of your rental. Or, you could hit the dirt trails on two wheels for a heart-pounding adventure!
For those visiting the area from out of town or anyone who doesn’t want to bring their own gear, Powder Mountain now offers bike rentals. Guests can rent Commencal’s Clash Ride mountain bikes during their visit and enjoy our many trails without needing to bring their own gear. Mountain bikes do need to be reserved 72 hours in advance of your visit. Rent for one day or several during your stay in a luxury vacation rental.
Lessons and Tours
If your mountain biking skills could use a little work or you want to explore some of our trails with a little help from a knowledgeable guide, consider booking a private lesson or guided tour during your stay.
While private bike lessons are only available when our mountain biking services are available, which are Thursdays through Sundays each week, you can book our mountain bike and electric mountain bike tours any day of the week. We even offer Guided UTV Scenic Tours for those who would prefer to explore without having to pedal!
